The Man Up UK Heath and Wellness weekend is not meant to single out individuals for detox, quick fix or quit regimes, but it is ideal for those who may be feeling the pressures of life, have lost direction and need a break to refocus and re-evaluate. We aim to enable this by encouraging and providing guidance for a healthier lifestyle through gradual habitual change and thought.

How Do We Achieve This

Man Up UK will focus on the two simplest and arguably most important aspects of Health and Wellbeing that will allow you to achieve your goals in the 6 steps to a healthy lifestyle namely; Nutrition and Activity. We will ensure that during your break you will be served genuinely tasty cleansing meals and delivered a healthy cooking workshop that will help you learn how to eat well and prepare dishes when you return to your daily lives. Diet and food consumption can play an important part to your short and long term physical and mental health. The activity aspect of our health and wellness breaks take many forms, and depend very much on what it is you are looking for.

With 186 miles of National Coastal Park at your disposal, there are easy stress relieving activities right at your feet including coastal path walks, nature trails, beaches, boat rides and historical walks. Nature is an amazing teacher. We believe that immersing yourself in nature is one of the keys to a successful wellness break and it might be that a glorious walk along the National Coastal Park, for any fitness level, and the beautiful St Davids surroundings will help you on a journey to new discovery about yourself and the important life changing habits you can make. For a bit more exhilaration we have highly trained instructors that can offer you the chance to take part in water sports like coasteering and kayaking. You may want to learn a new skill such as surfing or paddle boarding. If it’s just a leisurely bike ride that takes your fancy then we can easily organize that too. Or you may find that the adrenalin rush of a rib ride around Ramsay Island is the spark to a more free thinking self is what you need.

At Man-Up UK we truly believe that having experienced a well-being break in the beautiful surroundings of the National Coastal Park in and around St. Davids, Pembrokeshire, you will return home looking and feeling energized, positive and stress-free. Depending on what it is you wish to achieve on your wellness break, our experts at Man-Up UK can advise you accordingly with one on one mentoring advice and assist by sign posting you to continued support and options once you leave us and similarly if you just want to de-stress, have time away and relax, the Pembrokeshire coast is the place for you.  It certainly will be a change from otherwise busy and some time chaotic lifestyles that many of us lead.

The Location

We are situated St Davids, which lies in the middle of the breathtaking Pembrokeshire coast, the UK’s only coastal National Park, which stretches over 180 miles around the most Westerly tip of Wales where there are many beautiful inlets, beaches, small coves and mini harbours. St Davids itself has a fascinating history as Britain’s smallest City, housing its very own 12th Century Cathedral with historical significance. We will ensure that your break with us will take in the best the St Davids Peninsular has to offer.

 

Accommodation

Although we will be spending most of our time outside making the best use of the spectacular countryside and coastal national park we also appreciate the need for your rest, recovery and sleep to be taken in quality and comfortable accommodation.
What you can expect from your board is 4/5* standard private holiday cottage, which will either be situated either within a quiet location in St Davids or on the surrounding Peninsular. It will be private and discreet as well as having the comfort and amenities you’d expect and want.
All bedrooms will be single occupancy because we also realise the importance of having your own space,  unless you specifically request a double occupancy room.
We can assure you that the property you will stay at will be hand picked and ideal for a wellness break and the comforts and surroundings will promote wellness and relaxation.

Ynys Barry Cottages

Ynys Barry Cottages are not only decorated and equipped to a high standard they are situated adjacent to a working farm, and within easy walking distances from a number of the jewels in the North Pembrokeshire peninsular such as The Blue Lagoon at Abereiddy, The National park coast path, a number of magical beaches and the fishing harbour of Porthgain, which is also steeped in history as an important trade and industrial coastal village back in the day.
